Kakegamic’s Rabbits is one of the original hand printed and small edition serigraphs on paper from the Triple K Cooperative print studio, Red Lake, Ontario. In this standout work, Kakegamic explores his cultural and local iconography.

Triple K was an important, indigenous centred, and run, print atelier in the 1970′s/80′s, founded by artists Joshim and Goyce Kakegamic and their brother Henry.

It was based upon artistic control, self-representation, and self-determination, representing one another and themselves on their own terms.

In the early 1970′s, following our representation of Cree artist Carl Ray, of Sandy Lake, Ontario, we met Joshim and Goyce Kakegamic, adding them to our roster, and solo and group exhibitions of contemporary Canadian artists.
