Greg Curnoe received a Canada Council travel grant for a trip to Pangnirtung and Frobisher Bay, Baffin Island, Nunavut in 1971, traveling there in summer of the same year. He completed this plein-air watercolour, stamped “25″, in his field book, capturing the brief burst of verdant colours, still showing ovals of white ice floating in the blue waters.
